Richard is President of The Granat Group, L.L.C., a legal web site consulting organization that specializes in creating and distributing digital legal applications on the Internet.

Richard has been involved in developing innovative legal services delivery systems for over 30 years, first as part of the initial working group that created the National Legal Services Program, and then later as Director of the Center for Legal Studies at Antioch Law School in Washington, D.C., the nation's first clinical law school, and later President and Dean of the Philadelphia Institute for Paralegal Training, the nation's first paralegal school. He was the founding CEO of Automated Legal Systems, Inc., an affiliate of The Philadelphia Institute, one of the first legal software companies to publish legal applications for the personal computer.

Richard is also President of MyLawyer.com, Inc., and Chairman of the Center for Law Practice Technology.

MyLawyer.com, Inc., is the exclusive U.S. licensee of Rapidocs - a web -enabled document automation system published by Epoch Software in the United Kingdom. Rapidocs powers the leading legal information web sites for consumers in the UK, including: http://www.desktolawyer.co.uk  and http://www.lawasssure.co.uk

Richard is presently co-chair of the ELawyering Task Force of the American Bar Association, a project of its Law Practice Management Section and has has served as the Chair of the Law Practice Management Section of the Maryland State Bar Association.

Richard also served previously as the technological consultant to the Assisted Pro Se Domestic Law Project, University of Maryland School of Law; Webmaster, Founder of the People's Law Library of Maryland; and Project Director and Webmaster of the On-Line Mediation Project at the University of Maryland School of Law.
